Tonsil Clay as a Green Catalyst for Rapid and Efficient Reduction of Aldehydes and Ketones with NaBH3CN
Reduction of aldehydes and ketones to the corresponding alcohols in the presence of sodium cyanoborohdride as reductive agent and Tonsil clay as catalyst under solvent free conditions was investigated. Tonsil (catalyst) decreased the reduction time of each aldehyde and ketone to proportional alcohols in comparison with their reduction in the absence of catalyst with high degree purity of alcoho...
متن کاملNano SiO2/H2SO4 as catalyst for the Beckmann rearrangement and deoximation of aldoximes
Nano silica-H2SO4 is an efficient and mild catalysis system for the regeneration of aldehyde from aldoximes. Ketoximes are converted to amides by Beckmann rearrangement in the presence of nano silica-H2SO4. The reactions are carried out in solvent-free conditions under microwave irradiation (600 W) within 50-120 sec in good yields.
متن کاملAsymmetric counteranion-directed Lewis acid organocatalysis for the scalable cyanosilylation of aldehydes
Due to the high versatility of chiral cyanohydrins, the catalytic asymmetric cyanation reaction of carbonyl compounds has attracted widespread interest. However, efficient protocols that function at a preparative scale with low catalyst loading are still rare. Here, asymmetric counteranion-directed Lewis acid organocatalysis proves to be remarkably successful in addressing this problem and enab...

متن کاملSaccharomyces Cerevisiae as a Biocatalyst for Different Carbonyl Group under Green Condition
In this researchsaccharomyces cerevisiae (baker’s yeast) was used as a cheap, readily accessible, selective, efficient, and green bio-catalyst in a chemo selective reduction of carbonyl group to hydroxyl group. In this green procedure three substrates e.g. (3-(3-nitrophenyl)aziridin-2-yl)-1-phenyl-methanone, pyruvate ester, and 2-acetyl-γ-butyrolactone were r...
